In addition to a good (albeit not powerful) Toyota engine, this car has a full Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 at every package model as well as things like Apple, Android and Alexa built-in. The problem with the car is mostly in relation to things like size and power for the price. This is NOT meant for a family of six (or even five). I am looking for a used car (budget ~$13k) and have found a 2014 Yaris with ~40k miles that’s affordable. It drives well and although it’s a smaller car the size is fine for me. However I’ll be moving out of state soon and will be making the 300 mile trip (all interstate/main roads) between there and my home state a few times a year, and It is a very solid vehicle, lots of room, good for city and highway driving, and reasonably fun to drive. It's an option definitely worth considering. The only other car in this class/price range I've driven is an 08 Cobalt. The thing is fantastic on the highway, but feels awkward in city driving. The Yaris matches the Territory in terms of features, blow-by-blow. The Yaris even has the upper hand in the safety front too. The Yaris Cross V already has ADAS while you have to spend Yaris Cross Hybrid money on the Territory Titanium X to get those ADAS features (no AEB on standard Titanium). If you want the added power of the Territory's It’s purely because America had a hissy fit about not having the GR Yaris, even though they won’t buy a yaris. Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris come to mind as the smallest cars with decent cargo space and better gas efficiency, but I know some of you may also recommend a Prius or a Civic or Please don't buy a Yaris. I know it's not that bad of a car to you but there are so many more choices out there that aren't designed to be appliances. Plus, it's good in an accident against cars of similar size.
